Follow Friday is a weekly blog hop event hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.
This week's Question is:
Q: Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why
There are really not a ton of series that I have broken up with. I can only think of one and another one that I might break up with but will probably continue on with. So here they are.
(Click covers for Goodreads)
The first one that I have definitely broken up with is the Sookie Stackhouse series.
I read the first and second one and just gave up on them. There are a lot of books in this series and the main reason I started reading them was because of the TV show. The TV show in my opinion was better and I heard that the books and TV show are both different so I didn't want to continue. Also one of my friends says the story sort of disappoints as it kept going along, so I didn't have the need to read them anymore.
Another series that I might not continue on with is the Tiger's Curse Series.
I just didn't like the main character towards the end of the book, she really irritated me. I will probably continue, I just hope it gets better. I did really like the adventure and story for this one but if the main character doesn't believe in herself then why should I follow through on reading her story.
Let me know in the comments what your opinions are on my break ups. =]

Haven't heard of Tiger's Curse, but Sookie never appealed to me. My sister's watch True Blood and I don't particularly like that, so I doubt I'll ever pick up the books. Great picks! :D Old follower via GFC and Linky!

Second time I am seeing Tiger's Curse. I liked that series myself. The main character does seem to be the overall issue. She was a tad annoying, but I thought she got a little better as time moved on.
ReplyDeleteThe Sookie books have been challenging lately for me. But I've stuck by it since it was one of my first adult series. Still need to read the last book. The book series is definitely wayyyy different than the show, but I still find myself more loyal to the books. Guess cause they were first! :)

Have a GREAT weekend!

I personally love the Tiger's Curse series, the main character does get better as the series goes on - she learns to defend herself & not rely on Ren the rescue her so much :)

I tried reading the Sookie Stackhouse books too, because of the show. I got to page 30 of book 1 and then skimmed the rest. I just couldn't do it.

I haven't seen True Blood, so that might be why I read all of the Sookie series. Well, actually, I still have the last two books to read, but I'm totally nervous about the last one. I've heard the author takes a left turn out of nowhere, pissing off all her fans of the series. Eep!
