Follow Friday(22)

Gain New Blog Followers

Follow Friday is a weekly blog hop event hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.
This week's Question is:
Q: Worst cover? What is the worst cover of a book that you've read and loved?

Wow, this weeks question is a toughy. I really have to think about this one. There are definitely a few books that I have read that in my opinion have terrible covers. Below are just a few of them. I don't think I can name just one.

And Then There Were None
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
I just really hate this cover. I mean it doesn't convey at all the awesomeness of the book. A lone person standing on a bunch of rocks. I mean how boring does this look. I wish they could come up with a better portrayal of the essence of the book.

Inkheart (Inkheart, #1)
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
I don't get this cover at all. From what I remember it doesn't even have a lizard gecko thing in the book. This is such a wonderful story that deserves a better cover. I am just sayin.

Angels and Demons (Robert Langdon, #1)
Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
This is one of my all time favorite reads. I mean it involves a high speed action packed mystery and this is the cover they give us. I mean it makes no sense. A man running into fire, with some sort of ripped page and a building with windows. Once again wished it had a better cover.

The Giver (The Giver, #1)
The Giver by Lois Lowry
I recently read this book like a year and a half ago and it blew my mind. Completely loved it and it was my first real sort of dystopian that is a classic. I have seen this book around for years ever since 5th grade and the main reason I didn't show interest in it is because of the creepy looking man on the cover. I mean who wants to read a book with a squinting angry looking man on it. This amazing book totally needs a cover revamp pronto. So glad I actually piced it up and read it. =]

That's it for me. I acutally had fun with this Follow Friday. =]

  3. LOL, I laughed at the Inkheart one! It really doesn't make sense how there is a gecko when it isn't in the actual story.. I've never read The Giver because.. of that reason. The cover doesn't appeal to me at all D: I'll have to try it sometime now though !
I'm an old follower as well - but a new linky one! :D

  12. Yeah I don't like Inkheart either. I haven't actually read the Giver either, though I too have seen it around since grade school. I've never thought about if it was the cover that turned me off to it. Hmm. Interesting! :D Thanks for visiting my blog! New Follower. Happy Friday! :D
