Q: What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?
Today is a great day to have my thirteenth Follow Friday. Happy Friday the 13th everyone. =] Hope your day is filled with good luck instead of bad.
Anyway lets get back to the question.
As you guys mostly know there have been a ton of books that get adapted to be movies and they completely fail. For example, the Lemony Snicket Books, Eragon, and many more that just didn't live up to par.
Here are a few books that I would love to see made in to movies but I just don't think will be as good as the book. =]
I am sure I can go on and on. But those are the four that came to mind. =]
Leave me your links to your Follow Friday in the comment section and I will follow you back. =]
Thanks for visiting and Happy Reading.
-Michael
I am totally with you on the Divergent and Cinder big screen movie idea!

Yello,
ReplyDeleteawh now you reminded me that Across the Universe is lying around somewhere in the house, waiting for me to read it. I've read Divergent and Cinder though, and loved both of them. However, there seems to be so many movie-adaptation going on these last few years... and I'm not sure it's a good thing to be honest. "/
New follower,

Thanks for stopping by. I'm a new follower :) Oh, I just added Cinder to my TBR list a few minutes ago. Sounds like a great book!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree on your first three choices. I haven't read Pure yet, but from what I know of it, I think it would be incredibly difficult to translate over to film.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting & following this weekend! Following back...
(Also, I just realized that it's my 13th Follow Friday as well! I think there should be a prize for that. :D)
Hi there :) just hopping through.
ReplyDeleteOohh Cinder as a movie :O I would be excited and completely nervous!
Here is my choice...
Feature & Follow
Hopping through. Cinder could be an incredible movie. I would hope they'd do it right.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
I'm totally with you on these. And I really need to read Across the Universe still!
ReplyDeleteCinder was on my list too - I'm just not sure any movie could ever compete with my mental representation! And I also agree with Divergent, there's too much going on to manage to cram it into a movie, I think!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Tara @ Hey, Tara
I haven't read any of those books yet. They are all on my TBR list!
ReplyDeleteCinder....another book I've got to read!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat I Read Yesterday
I have read Divergent and it was my pick too! I haven't read Cinder or Across the Universe but I hope to very soon :D Great picks!!!! I think if they even had a slight chance of making it super good it would have to be the length of a Harry Potter Movie :) Thank you for stopping by my #FF!
ReplyDeleteFollowing you via GFC :)
Kayla @ Bengal Reads
I have, so far, only read two of those books but I can't see them happening either. :/
ReplyDeletePatricia // My FF
Yeah I think they would totally mess up Across the Universe. Great book choices!
ReplyDeleteOooh good pick with Pure! I really love Conder as well. I haven't read Across The Universe, it's on my TBR though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and for following! Followed you back :)
I haven't read the other three besides Divergent, but from the sounds of the synopsis they'd all be hard to make into movies. Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
ReplyDeleteYes to all of them except Pure. I couldn't get into that book at all. Great answers by the way.

Thanks for stopping by, I am a new GFC follower!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on all of these, especially Across the Universe. There is no way they'd be able to make the ship cool enough.
I'm a new GFC Follower. Myself I'd like to see Cinder on the big screen, even though they'll probably muck it up.

Across The Universe, Cinder, Divergent, and Pure?? Yes, I agree that there is no big chance that movie can capture their awesomeness!! Finger crossed though! :)

I have read Divergent and I have Cinder on my kindle just haven't got to it. So i take it its good?
ReplyDeleteTotally, completely agree with Cinder! I haven't read Across the Universe, but from what I've heard, it'd be one of those things that would need a lot of special effects, and that could go really wrong!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog, I'm now following via linky!
lol I haven't read any of these ones but I really need to. I understand your feelings about it though.

here is mine
I have to agree with Divergent.

Hi, thanks for stopping by my blog - I'm following you back!
ReplyDeleteI think it'd be really interesting to see Cinder as a film! I like all of those books and at least the first three are popular enough that I can quite imagine that they may be adapted some day. It will be interesting to see how they translate.
Thanks for stopping by my FF post. Im a new follower of yours :)
