Hiatus/Vacation

Hi Everyone. =]

 

 

I decided since summer is almost over and I have a week off from school that I deserve a little mini break from blogging. So I am taking approximately a weeks hiatus/vacation.

 

I will miss blogging but I need a well deserved break from life even if it is just for a little while.

 

Join me when I come back in a week for more review, memes and maybe even a giveaway. =]

Okay this one sounds super awesome and totally different from anything I have really read before. I have been obsessed a little bit over the Penguin Breathless reads, which I can't wait to read them all, and this one sounds awesome. I really can not wait to read it. =] Also this one comes out in less than a week so I am of course getting even more excited. Can't wait.

This week's Question is: Q: Worst cover? What is the worst cover of a book that you've read and loved?   Wow, this weeks question is a toughy. I really have to think about this one. There are definitely a few books that I have read that in my opinion have terrible covers. Below are just a few of them. I don't think I can name just one.   And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie I just really hate this cover. I mean it doesn't convey at all the awesomeness of the book. A lone person standing on a bunch of rocks. I mean how boring does this look. I wish they could come up with a better portrayal of the essence of the book.   Inkheart by Cornelia Funke I don't get this cover at all. From what I remember it doesn't even have a lizard gecko thing in the book. This is such a wonderful story that deserves a better cover. I am just sayin.   Angels and Demons by Dan Brown This is one of my all time favorite reads. I mean it involves a high speed action packed mystery and this is the cover they give us. I mean it makes no sense. A man running into fire, with some sort of ripped page and a building with windows. Once again wished it had a better cover.   The Giver by Lois Lowry I recently read this book like a year and a half ago and it blew my mind. Completely loved it and it was my first real sort of dystopian that is a classic. I have seen this book around for years ever since 5th grade and the main reason I didn't show interest in it is because of the creepy looking man on the cover. I mean who wants to read a book with a squinting angry looking man on it. This amazing book totally needs a cover revamp pronto. So glad I actually piced it up and read it. =]   That's it for me. Why I am Waiting:

Okay this book just came out yesterday and I really can't wait to get my hands on a copy. That synopsis sounds so good. A girl lost at sea with no sign of help on the way, now that is a book I want to read pronto. I really need to buy this soon. =]

Why I am Waiting:

First off, Jackson Pearce is such an amazing person and she writes really awesome books. I mean this is her third fairytale retellings book. Who wouldn't want to read them all. Even though I still really need to read Sweetly (Second in the retellings series) I will totally still be buying this one on the day it comes out. Can't wait. Less than a month left. Comes out September 4th. =]

I am the feature this week I am so excited. I didn't even think that I would even be considered to be the feature. Thanks to the wonderful and awesome Rachel and Allison who chose me. =]

This week's Question is:   Q: What would you do over if you were to start your blog again from scratch?   This is really kind of a tough question this week. There are a few things but not a lot that I would change for my blog. The following is a list of items I would change or do over:   1) I would have a better background picture then the generic bookshelves that blogger provides, even though it does go with the name of my blog. I want a more authentic original look of my blog but I am not really that tech savvy to be able to do it myself. I tried before and almost messed up my entire blog.   2) This ties into number 1. I would want my blog to look more professional and look completely different than it is now.  If I had to do it from scratch, I would also consider going with a different blog creator other than blogger, like possibly wordpress. I didn't really research a lot about it before I just jumped right into it. I would do a ton more research if I started from scratch.   3) Another thing is, I would consider partnering with someone else to share in the postings, reviews and memes of my blog. When I started I didn't really realize how much work blogging actually is. Don't get me wrong I love blogging and enjoy doing it. It's just having another person to help run it would definitely bring off the edge of all the work that goes into it.   The bottom line from this question is that I would really never want to start over from scratch because I love all the hard work I have already put into it and unless I knew I would get everything I wanted there would be no point in starting over. Beth Revis just sent in her final edits and the book is being sent off to the typesetter. That means ARCs will be coming out soon and then after that actual books. =] So excited to read this book and to be able to have an awesome conclusion to this amazing mystery series. It has definitely been worth the wait, but I will be a struggle to wait these last few months. Hope you guys are excited for this one as I am.

Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?   My reading habits don't really change based on my mood. I read books that I know I will like most of the time so that they are a comfort to me. These are my go to books and I don't realy change genres that much. What does change depending on my mood is the length of a particular book I choose to read. Long books take me forever to read so I need to be in a particular mood to read them. Because Victoria Schwab totally rocks. Just read The Near Witch and I loved everything about it. Plus the premise of her new book sounds absoulutely amazing. I mean the dead resting on shelves like books. You had me from the first line. Really can't wait to read it and so hope I get an ARC of it or get to read it on NetGalley. =]
